Broken Pipe error in Netscape
These errors most commonly occur on 6100 series PowerMacs with a Global Village Gold II modem. Global Village didn't package these modems with software that supports error correction or data compression.

The company has released updater software that fixes the problem.

It can be found at:

ftp.globalvillag.com/pub/software/mac/previous/

The name of the file is 2.1.2 updater.sea.bin. This update allows users to increase their port speed to 38400. After doing this, the "Broken Pipe" error goes away.
